Royal Caribbean

RCL  (ROYAL CARIBBEAN CR)
Cramer had a short discussion with the president of Royal Caribbean (RCL),  Adam Goldstein.  He asked Mr. Goldstein about about his company's recent strong earnings report. Mr. Goldstein predicted that the Caribbean will continue to be strong market for Royal Caribbean.  Jim Cramer reminded Mr. Goldstein that recently Carnival (CCL) had said that business in the Caribbean is not looking do hot, but Mr. Goldstein disagreed with that statement. Mr. Goldstein also stated that the company is gaining  revenue from increased spending on board.

AAR Corp

AIR  (A A R CP)

(AIR), is a company that operates in the maintenance repair and construction business for airlines.  Due to new maintenance regulations have been passed for jetliners (which may result in the faster retirement of some planes), Jim thinks that (AIR) could see an increase in business.  In addition, (AIR) has a new office in Shanghai, which may be able to win new business there.  China has begun to fix up planes instead of buying new ones. Jim also mentioned that the company is not, unionized, which keeps costs low.

Pharmaceutical Product Development Inc

PPDI  (PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, INC. )
Calling  Pharmaceutical Product Development Inc.(PPDI)the 'best of breed clinical trial company', Jim say this is a safe buy (even in 'mon-back' range). An April 8th New York Times report of drug trials that killed six led him to take a look into this industry again.  He said that last week this stock wouldn't have been a buy, but due to the success of C.R. Bard Inc. (BCR) and Quest Diagnostics Inc. (DGX) he now considers them so.

General Dynamics Corp

GD  (GEN DYNAMICS CP)
Jim wondered aloud whether the recent visit of Chinese Leader Hu would bring about peaceful commerce.  He concluded that, no it would not, but that you may be able to make a buck from 'war profiteering'.  The play is General Dynamics Corp (GD).  Because of reported increases in military spending in China, the U.S. will answer in same. General Dynamics Corp makes sub hunters/killers, combat systems for the military and Gulf Stream Jets that are very popular with the wealthy and rich.
